Patch almost complete.
Today I am almost finished my patch for Project 04 there is still the issue of transparency.
However I have an idea of how I could fix that problem. I will post up some pictures and a video of it in action.
As for the presentation day i have teamed up with Anthony and Milo. we have arranged to meet tomorrow at 10.
Overall I am near to compleating this project and i home to get the patcher done tomorrow night. The Design statment done by tuesday night or thursay morning.
389 Progress Project 04
So I went to talk to Morgan Barnard about how I would go about doing my idea i made a good start but now i have another problem. MAXmsp makes all the average colour look smudged and gray. So the question i have now is what primary colour should i associate with what span of time e.g. Red to minutes and for what reason ?

Thinking about constrictions.
For project 4 I am thinking thinking about Restrictions.
The restrictions could go some thing like this.
- Size has to be a strip.
- Must fit in the size required.
- Must be reactive.
- must be in a fairly darkish area.
- must have a background that has a neutral color.

Mouse over the black space to find the colour. in this experiment I have dialled down the intensity of the colours.

In this experiment the colours changes in minutes, seconds and split seconds. Also looked at getting some composition. This is a technical test for the mosaic.

- How else can I look at time ?
- Can i do this with just black grey and whites?

- The composition needs to be more refined.
- Again the colour blocks look too big.
- The split second colours would become annoying after a while also would be a hazard to people who have epilepsy .
- I will try to make a functional composition piece next experiment.

In this experiment I took the footage from experiment eleven an slowed the footage down to analyse the footage better as the progresses through time.

- I have found that have the original footage does give some reference but too much reference.
- In the next I will slow Down the speed of the footage to give some better analyse the motion time.

- From an outsiders point of view this looks strange with no real context of the triangles origin.

This is a look at the pen abstracted. to give look a the idea of individual pens motion journey through time. In this experiment I did a photoshop filter on the frames to totally isolate the pen from its former surrounding’s.

- there is a lot of motion in just a single object.
- Again still not abstract enough.
- I will abstract the pen in to a more simple shape.

In this experiment I pixelated the drawing even more to give the idea of subtle movement in time represented by the pixels.

- What about the individual movement of an object say the pen ?

- I will keep the footage and I will not change the footage. I still fell like I could analyse this footage more.
- By making the pixels bigger the subtle movements more obvious.

Experiments Project 2 06
In this experiment looks at the idea that individual movements of drawing a line by repeating the the footage over and over again. This experiment is similar to Experiment 03 but this one looks at the idea of capturing of past time as well.
- Still looking not abstract enough. how else can make this abstract ?
- How can i express subtlety in motion in time ?

- Now I feel satisfied that I have shown movement in this experiment . But i still feel I can do more.
- In the next experiment I will look at more ways to express motion in time.
