Mega Update
I have just realised that I have not blogged any progress for over a week now. In this blog post will show what I have done to address the Issues mentioned in my previous post.
In order to make this post coherent, I will brake this up date into sections.
Models:
First up I have made some new models as seen below.

Code:
Also there are some new features in the game.
- Fade in Fade out script for level transition.
- Proximity sound script .
- Talking portraits script for tutorials and hints.
Voice acting:
Last weekend I did some voice acting as Little Red Riding Hood and one of the Three Little pigs. Each of these characters would exist in a portrait. The reason why I need to do this is to give some much needed humour and use them as tutorial hubs for the game.
Consequences:
I have also made two consequences for the game if you absorb the wrong book. I hope to make three consequences for the final.
The consequences I have made are:
- Distorted gravity: where the player gets thrown up to the the ceiling then thrown down to the floor until the player dies.
- The player gets turned in to a book.
At the moment I cant decide on what I could do for the last consequence.
Level design:
After getting some one else to play through the first level of my game I took out the road and made it in to a longer path to the house. Also As seen in the models I have use the ripped pages as a markers to lead the player towards the house.

Documentation In the pipe line…
Last Friday I setup the installation and filmed the installation in action. at the stairwell. Unfortunately the seekers had a problem being that the sound had this loud hum in the background that would not go away.
I have found a fix for this. so now I am doing i am documenting the installation. I hope to have this done by Friday afternoon.
I Think I have cracked it…
I just think I have found the reason why I have had sound problems its these objects bellow that were caused the problem.
I have removed these objects and patch is working.
Interactivity
Yesterday I was able to get some interactivity into my patch now i am able to cycle between 3 modes of time delay using the camera. now I am thinking of putting more modes in today.
I am now wondering whether or not having the microphone or microphones should be visible or not ? If so how can i hide them?
Interactivity in my patch or lack thereof.
Today I was talking to my lecturer today and i was told that i was on track. I am now looking to do this assignment without Arduino and just using Camera vision and a microphone. However my lecturer wanted to get me to look at Interactivity with in my patch. As it has very little interactivity at the moment. So my ideas on how to get some interactivity in my patch are….
- Effect the delay time of the patch using the camera.
- Effect the size of the echo of the patch using the camera.
Hope to have finished the interactivity by the end of tomorrow and the installation done by the end of Thursday at the latest.
Also on a side note i have tyded my patch up considerably.
Success.
Today I had a Brake through I Found a way of delaying sound in Max/Msp to the point now i can delay an echo however long want.
For any of those that are interested heres how you delay sound.
I Used the “delay~” object here is the a picture of my current patch.
Idea for Project 2 312
Ok after some thinking this my idea.
I want to record the sound in one of the stair wells in the universty and play it back in some way that would become intresting.
This would incourage people to take the stairs and make walking the stairs fun.
By doing this this will save the elevator power.
